Time for a glass and some late lunch back at the Sofitel Winter Palace after visiting “The Valley of the King’s” and “Nefertari’s Tomb”. Nefertari’s Tomb is perhaps the most well preserved in all of Egypt. What an amazing day and perhaps the very top of Sofía’s bucket list for places to go. So, a huge cheers to Nefertari and seeing my wife so happy!!!

As for the Omar Khayyam Sultanie Blanch, the nose shows; ripe banana with peel, lemon, some lime, grapefruit, ripe, juicy pineapple, tropical melons, beeswax, just a touch of light chalkiness and soft minerals, saline with spring & yellow flowers with greens mixed in.

The body is thick, touch waxy and full. The palate shows; ripe banana with peel, lemon, some lime, grapefruit, ripe, juicy pineapple, tropical melons, beeswax, more pronounced chalkiness and grainier volcanic minerals, hints of white spice, saline, herbal notes with spring & yellow flowers with greens mixed in. The acidity is round and good. The well balanced, rich, lush, well polished finish is delicious and persists two to three minutes.

Photos of; the grand view of “Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir El Bahrain” as you approach, a depiction of Nefertari and Maat preparing for the afterlife, my wife and I in “Nefertari’s Tomb” and my Sofia living her dream of standing in her tomb.
