JL Southern Rhone tasting 11/15/16. Very floral and balanced nose with hints of violets. Good complex body and structure with long finish of minerals and acids. Still tannic and a Bit hot. 15% ABV. 90% Grenache. Interesting. 80 yes old vines and $17. Needs age.

Domaine la Guintrandy Cotes du Rhone Village Visan Vielles Vignes 2010- my last bottle and I wish I had waited. This is a "big wine" with extreme aging potential given its modest price. Pepper, raw meat, and black cherry are dominant on the nose. Medium bodied with plenty of character. Great with my tellicherry pepper steak au poirve
