Shimshon Region Oak Aged Petite Sirah
Dark inky in color with a purple rim.
Strong nose of black plums, black currants, coffee, oak, cloves, alcohol, earth, vegetables, graphite, spices, bitter herbs and peppercorn.
Full bodied and smooth with high acidity and great legs.
Dry on the palate and very fruity with blackberries, plums, currants, oak, vanilla, cloves, tobacco, alcohol, espresso, mega purple(?), dark chocolates and peppercorn.
Tart on the finish with firm tannins and tangy cherries.
This is a young Petite Sirah from Israel. Simple, still unbalanced and hot at the back of the throat. Shows a nice mouthfeel with a tangy ending.
Not pleasant right out of the bottle, and needs 90 minutes to open up properly and show some tannins.
Needs a couple of years in the bottle to mature.
15% alcohol by volume.

This young Petite Syrah is great by itself or with a nice steak. Will age in the next 3 years, and smooth out nicely.

My first tasting of Petite Sirah.
Definitely benefits from aeration; smell and tasting notes come out when doing so. Tastes of blueberry and fig with an earthly smell.
