Monopole Rioja Blanco Viura
Light, refreshing, citrusy, white flowers, beeswax (yep I get it) minerals, overall very nice, had it with asparagus and salmon salad, loved it!

May 17th, 2018Crisp steely stuff. Nose shows a beautiful depth of citrus fruit. The palate has a great balance of fruit, acid & salinity. This producer makes makes great wine across the board. This is a hauntingly beautiful record. Reminiscent of Leo Kottke & John Fahey in a slower tempo. Almost ballad-like guitar work from a virtuoso.

Jun 19th, 20192016 vintage, had it with chicken tender salads for lunch. Excellent summertime wine! Dry, crisp, with apricot notes.

Dec 24th, 2018Ripe pear, stone fruit on the nose. Starts with pit and ends with honeyed floral though fairly light with notes of hay and stone. Peach pit. Ash? Stainless steel. The nose delivers sweetness that’s not entirely following through. A cartoon with an adult message. Salted. I prepared chicken sausage with sweet potato gnocchi and cardamom pumpkin sauce. This could counter slightly spicy richness with its slenderness. Or hold up to lemon cello gelato with its steeliness.
