Unlike Jorgen, I must reach into the bargain basement quite often. For $18 this is great. It's got a good nose of cherries, dark fruit and wood. It has a consistent palette, with soft tannins. The finish is somewhat abrupt with slight tartness on the back of the tongue. If I let it breathe for longer than 30 mins, I'm sure this will evolve to a better place.

Blackberry, spearmint, leather...bell pepper. As good as this wine will probably get.

Throughly enjoyable Bordeaux. Decanted for an hour and it drank beautifully probably could spend a few more years and smooth out a bit

Bold flavorful wine to go with the steak dinner.. Aged nicely but could have more complexity in flavor

Dark cherry and wood on the nose. Bright pop on the palate that hides faster than you want it to. A bargain at $18.

Exceptional paradigm of a 2005 Bordeaux. Luscious with berries and tempered by anise. Tanins have nicely mellowed.

What a punchy old wine! A calm front taste only lends to a spicy medium and soft tanniness. Really really fills up your mouth with blueberry, leather, earth, and ever stronger vanilla

Intense ruby color, very earthy nose with hints of leather. Dry, Medium acidity. As pointed out in other reviews, it opens up after about 30 to an hour with awesome aromas of berries, licorice, medium-full bodied. Definite cadidate for decanting. Tannins, in my opinion could still be toned down for 2-4 years. A beautiful match to my grilled medium cooked, garlic salt, pepper ribeye...Overall very good.
