Not bad.....40-40-20, Mourvedre, Syrah & Grenache
Dec 29th, 20172014v GSM from Total Wines. There is a lot of subtle complexity going on in this value priced wine, but it takes a little work to bring it out. First, this is 40% syrah, 40% mourvedre, and 20% grenache. Unusual ratios. Let the wine breathe for about 30-45, and slightly chill like the label says (I served it around 58-60F). The S provides a leathery and slightly dried meat aroma over raspberry fruit. The M gives some darker berry and flowers. Could use more body and it's without a very memorable finish though. 14%ABV.

May 14th, 2016Spicy raspberry with a licorice to tar finish. Very refreshing. Like many Rhone wines, this bottle is a good value ($9.99 Total Wine).
