Vintage 2012 | Razorsharp Muscadet with minerals and a clear impression of anise. Good balance! | Paired for lunch with sushi

Vintage 2012 / very rich for a Muscadet, probably because it is made from ‘vignes centenaires’ (old vines, more than 100 years old). The smell is a mix of minerality and quince. Soft attack, fine acidity with citrus impression. Perfect balance. It is a shame that #muscadet is underrated. Beautiful #loirewine for hot days. #melondebourgogne

I've never eaten crushed rocks or oyster shells, but I'd imagine this is what they would smell/taste like. Citrus and lees contact abound, with bracing acidity. Cutting through the fat of salmon like a knife.
