Wednesday Wine Committee. Great hosting by Gavin. 1 sparkler, 4 whites, 4 reds and 2 dessert wines. All served blind as usual.
Such a treat. This was absolutely wonderful and has so much fruit and life to it! It is extremely honeyed...not much roasted nuts to this at its age, but the honey is still there and seems to be only getting stronger. Honeyed covered mangos, dried apricot, and orange marmalade. I called this early ‘80s Sauternes.

Deep dark golden color, apricot, honey and orange flavors. Long sweet finish. Spectacular!

A wonderful finish to a NYE dinner on 12/31/19. Not too sweet- paired extremely well with fresh berries and Creme Anglaise. Even mellowed a touch with air and a little warmth.

Jan 5th, 2020Perfectly aged 1961 Coutet. Nice apricot and honey in nose and on the palate. Sweet finish. Couldn't get much better. Yummy!
