Dark ruby in color with a wide purplish rim.
Earthy nose with blueberries, black currants, bell pepper, green vegetables, wet leaves, forest floor, smoke, spices, tobacco leaf and black pepper.
Medium bodied with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry and spicy on the palate with blueberries, black currants, oak, vanilla, licorice, cloves, spices, vegetables, bitter herbs, peppercorn, dark coffee, tobacco leaf, dark chocolates diet cola and vinaigrette.
Long finish with soft tannins and tangy cherries.
This 10 year old Italian Amarone is drinking very nicely now. Soft, smooth and elegant. Earthy nose and still lots of fruits on the palate.
Good by itself or with food, like grilled chicken or steak. I paired it with chicken sausage on the grill. Thank you Michael for sharing.
