Cesari
Bosan Amarone della Valpolicella Corvina Blend
Another Wednesday Wine Committee in the books. Great hosting by @Bill Makens . 1 sparkler, 3 whites, 4 reds, 1 dessert wine all served blind.
Only the second Amarone I’ve had that has been truly fantastic. This was raisiny but not overly stewed and muddled. It was more dusty and fig based. Blackberry compote, Mexican vanilla, dark chocolate and candied dark fruits on the nose. Rich and decadent with graham cracker, black cherry liqueur and a small spice note toward the back of the palate. Lots of guesses of CdP and Sonoma zin. I went back and forth between zin and mid 2000s Aussie Cab.

2004 drinking like a 2012. Still so fresh, full of life and showing no signs of slowing down. Get more oak influence on this than other Amarone. Figs and plums, cedar and cigar box, chocolate creme and vanilla. Layered, supremely concentrated and utterly hedonistic. Fantastic.

WoW this is in the zone!!
Hardly showing age on color. Fruit and wood very well integrated. Marzipan in the nose as is tobaco and some cinnamon. Still enough tanins present in a nice way.

Showing already aging with brownish edges. Hints of fruit, secondairy alteady mushrooms, forest, boiled meat. Lets see how this one evolves.

Jan 30th, 20172005. Runner up in recent Amarone taste off and my favorite in the bunch. Excellent, dark and brooding without much of the overripe raisin tastes that I find challenging with these wines.
