Putting the Amaro back in Amarone. Bright cherries and things with a touch of tobacco way back and a syrupy affect even on the nose. Been awhile since I've had one of these.

Man, this stuff is amazing. Traditional and rustic, smelling almost immediately of pepper, warm spice, potpourri and dried flowers, and opening up with lively dark fruit, prunes, black cherry, and surprising clarity for something so high ABV. Delicious, true to style and dangerously drinkable.

Dad's 60th at Avalanche Ranch. Night 2. High ABV shows up in a strong alcohol layer throughout the taste. Warm, woody tasting with some heavy red fruit.
