Aug 30th, 2016My first experience tasting a Bosnian wine, this golden-hued, lush, biodynamically farmed white from Brkić is crafted from the indigenous Žilavka grape. It's highly aromatic, bursting with pungent notes of bruised pear, decomposing flowers, dried tarragon, iron, and Honey Nut Cheerios. Lees contact has endowed it with a lovely texture, as well as aging in neutral oak, lending further dimension to fleshiness, the core expresses pear as well, but also nuanced, ripe pineapple, banana chips and lithe, stony minerality. For this American palate, Žilavka is a unique experience. 12.5% ABV | Sample

It's a citrus blend; lemon, lime, oranges. Touch of guava, pineapple, oily, ginger root with a splash of creme, citrus blossoms, gritty minerals/chalk, dry stones and finishes with ripe tropical fruit.
