Beeswax Vineyard Picpoul

There is a huge citrus aspect at play on the nose, limes, lemons, oranges, the works. That floral quality has a lot of competition in the sniff. The palate offers up a fabulous acidity, with salinity and minerals to join the aforementioned fruit. This is a serious white wine that can serve as so much more than a sipper with salad. It’s a perfect wine to pair with with crustaceans and mollusks.

Apple, pithy lemon, blood orange, peach, slate and a hint of salinity. Racy acidity and great minerality.

Mild tartness. Good on a hot day.

Light. Apple jolly rancher.

Decent weeknight bottle.

Great with cheese. A little steely by itself.

Granny Smith 🍏, pear, sweet, crisp and creamy at the same time.

Chuggable, little sweetness on the back, a knockout for the price.

With a light nose of apricot, light citrus and cream, this is a surprising California Piqpol. The flavor has a cheesy funk, with hints of banana, vegetal notes, star fruit, apricot, salt and light minerality. The color is a light gold to almost green. This was fine, but not my favorite
