Montevertine

Le Pergole Torte Sangiovese 2004

Color is plenty youthful and elegant with a ruby red that gets lighter pink on the edges. The nose is a mix of primary and tertiary, with cherry, pomegranate, sandalwood, earthy forest floor and a woodsy mushroom. The palate was pure silk and refined velvety tannin, finishing long and fresh with classic bright Tuscan acidity. If you have it it's great but has legs for another 15 years easy. #montevertine #tuscany #sangiovese — 7 years ago

Montevertine

Toscana Super Tuscan Blend 2013

If someone were to ask me what a pure, original and classically styled Sangiovese wine was like I would steer them in the direction of this wine and feel quite confident in that decision.

This showed well from the first sip with no aeration, in fact it was quite generous and jumped right into the driver seat, gaining more breadth and complexity with air.

Tangy cherry, blood orange, rose petals, licorice spice, and just the right amount of earth and minerality. The perfect balance exudes harmony, purity and a sense of excitement that makes you go back to the glass and want more with each sniff and sip.
