Kinheimer Rosenberg Spätlese Riesling 2017

At first thought this would be higher. It as it warmed and opened actually lost some of the acid that was keeping it balanced and became a bit too sweet. Still a very nice food pairing, and very classically mosel. Only 8.5%. — 7 days ago

Ürziger Würzgarten Auslese Riesling 2018

8.5% alc.vol.
So there is still residual sugar. 6 years old now. Acids also alive and kicking. A joy!

Big 18 sunshine nose. Violets, mulch and spice. Some nice sweet wood as well. But just enormous spice. Very Fruh. Palate is so elegant and full of violets and wonderful inner mouth florals. Really nice opulent texture and just floats. Let’s see what air does. After air this gets more linear and gains edge and energy. Really different now than when it was p and p. — a month ago

I don’t know these German Pinots are just the shit - and know one knows or cares. Good for us i guess.

Freedom Hill Vineyard Chardonnay 2021

This reminds me of a Kistler Dutton Ranch in the early 2000. Little less acidity but for sure that same delicious nose and bite on the tongue. Really delicious and I’m pretty sure someone in this app put me onto it. Forget who but thanks! — 2 months ago

Not sure where I have been but had no idea Walter Scott made this many wines. Went in to fix the name and holy cow the list went on forever.

Sometimes an older bottle just hits and wow tbh is killing it? Nose is dusty bookshelves, old books, glorious spice and some faint cherry but the story is the palate. Wow. Just perfect. Sensual texture, hit of opulence, great acids and freshness, barely sweet fruit and killer length. What one wants out of an aged wine. Fantastical. — 3 months ago
