Oh such a lovely wine. 1983 Montepulciano d’Abruzzo. Recorked in 2023. Such a beautiful nose. Opened without decanting, but gave it 25-30 minutes. Palette still needs to open a bit. Enjoyed before it really opened with the Lumache (duck and goose with ricotta): delicious but still not open enough. Then ordered the prime rib and it really opened up after more than an hour open. Nose remained so pretty but the palate really got going. Tertiary flavors of leather, earth and spice, yet with a nice touch of red fruits (cherry). BYOB BTW. — 2 months ago
Such a storied brand, it was a treat to finally try this. Opulent black bramble fruit with that Tuscan earthy spice on the nose. Hard to deny this was opened far too young as I imagine it would really be singing in 10 years. Lovely acidity, exquisite tannins on the finish. Next time it only makes sense to drink an aged wine of this caliber. #sassicaia — 3 months ago
Medium Ruby with aromas of fresh berry fruits, floral and sweet spice. On the palate this medium body wine shows flavors of juicy blueberry and blackberry with notes of herbs and vanilla spice. Dusty tannin structure, lively acidity, medium ending with crisp fruit finish. Nice value. Drink now, consistent, no aging benefit. — 12 days ago
Earth driven wine with loads of dried tobacco aromas, dried rose petal, anise seed and black truffle. Kirsch liquor and cherry pit with vibrant tannins and acidly. Long persistent finish that lingers. — a month ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over two days. Best on Day 2. The 2021 “Etna Rosso” pours a bright ruby color with a transparent core; medium viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is youthful with bright cherries and raspberries, carnations and rocky minerals. On the palate, medium+ tannin and medium acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium. This is a very pretty wine that wins you over with its charm and it’s versatile on the dinner table as well. Great QPR. Drink now with a little patience and through 2031. — 3 months ago

Popped and poured; enjoyed over three days and showed very well throughout. The 2012 pours a deep garnet color with a near opaque core and some browning towards the rim; medium+ viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with secondary characteristics just starting to show themselves. Also, the solar nature of 2012 is showing through with loads of truffles and overripe and desiccated red and black fruits: tartufo bianco d’Alba, dried cherry, bruised raspberries, red roses, leather, Fig Newtons, dried herbs, and some dusty and gravelly earth. On the palate, the wine is bone dry with high tannins and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long, drying and savory. I’ve been a vocal fan of the 2012 vintage of Produttori since release and this might be the best showing yet. This is my last 750mL. My remaining bottles are magnums and I’ll look forward to enjoying those over the next 10-15 years. No rush, but this is a fun time to drink these as the truffle character is starting to peak through. — 3 hours ago
