Times Ten Cellars

Sea Smoke

Ten Santa Barbara County Pinot Noir 2011

The anticipation and patience displayed holding this for 10 years was amply rewarded. Clear, brick-ish color, tight nose that eventually opened to loads of red fruit, Burgundy like in its combination of lushness and reserve. Subtle and layered even after all these years. — 19 days ago

World's End

Good Times, Bad Times Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

I am a fan of the World’s End family of wines and I enjoyed this one. A little chewy and dense but nice flavors. — 3 months ago

Heitz Cellar

Martha's Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

Medium to full bodied balanced and smooth . Clearly a step or 2 above the std Heitz cab but not sure if the 4 times multiple of price is worth it — 5 months ago

Sea Smoke

Ten Estate Vineyard Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir

A lovely wine. Raspberries, black cherries, and plums. I slightly prefer the 2016, but this is still an excellent wine. — 13 days ago

Ten Minutes by Tractor

Judd Vineyard Pinot Noir 2015

I had the previous bottle 37 weeks ago and this was, once again, outstanding. Sous Bois is still there along with red fruited (cherry), red florals (roses) and confectionery. Evidence of whole bunch in the ferment. My daughter, Georgie adored it and said it was one of the best if not THE Best wine she has had in her Australian visit for the past 5 weeks. She has now returned to Copenhagen. Only 1705 bottles made. On Saturday my wife and I are having lunch at Ten Minutes by Tractor and need to restock their excellent wines. — 4 months ago

Great 05 fruit with classic Bordeaux profile.

Starts with the bright, ripe fruits that 05 gave. Blackberries, black raspberries, very, dark cherries, black plum, raspberries, plum, perfect graphite for days, cedar, fresh & slightly dry tobacco, forest floor with dry leaves, perfect, dark spices, dry crushed limestone, dry river stone, nutmeg, cinnamon & vanillin, salted caramel, dry, dark chocolate bar, steep tea with fruit, anise to black licorice, haunting herbaceous notes, saline notes, dry to moist clay, bright, mid to dark florals framed in violets, excellent acidity with amazing tension, beautifully balanced & structured, polished, wire to wire finish that lasts close to two-minutes. So round on the palate. Great with the El Salciciero ribeyes.

Corn picked today from my organic garden. Ten to fifteen plus year left.

Château Latour

Premier Grand Cru Classé Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 1959

Delectable Wine
9.8

The 1959 Latour is a vintage that I have drunk many times. It contains a payload of irresistible and quite precocious red fruit on the nose with blood orange, cedar and a touch of thyme, beautifully defined. The palate has exquisite balance, poised yet powerful, with a multi-dimensional, profound finish that is one of the smoothest-textured you will find on any Latour vintage. Absolutely divine. Tasted at Arbor restaurant in Hong Kong. (Neal Martin, Vinous, February 2024)

Sea Smoke

Ten California Grand Cru Pinot Noir 2012

I’d say these wines are overrated. Second of the 2012’s I picked up. Dark fruit, supple but not that interesting. — 4 months ago

Dark ruby coloration. Some translucency- classic Pinot appearance. On the nose, cherry, dark berry, plum, forest floor, earth, and minerals. On the palate, cherry, plum, dark berry, cola, fruit forward. Jammy. Nice medium to full body with velvety mouthfeel. Nicely balanced tannins and longish finish. — 8 months ago
