On the palate flavors of cherry and raspberry with tobacco, oak and garden herbs. Medium+ finish, chalky tannins, savory, ending with herbs, spice, cedar and slight fruit, savory. This wine has a medium ruby hue (trending deep in color) with robust and layered aromas and flavors that include strawberry sauce (think fruit-on-the-bottom yogurt), raspberry coulis, tart cherry, rose water, tomato leaf, mint, black licorice, anise, vanilla, and pipe tobacco.

On the palate, it’s dry, with medium (+) acidity, a medium body, medium alcohol (13%) and medium fine grained, soft tannins.

It’s a delicious and versatile wine. And fun to taste a California expression of Sangiovese outside of its homeland in Italy! — 2 months ago
