Unctuous nose with ripe, bruised fruits. Peachy and macerated. Floral qualities and an alluring dash of freshly ground white pepper. Good rich texture with a calcareous finish and a little suggestion of light nectar or thistle honey. — 7 years ago
Black current and a little watery. Tannins plenty — 8 years ago

Sipping on this gem found in our cellar left by the sellers of our new home 😉 it’s actually quite nice! Very easy drinking. Medium to light bodied, balanced fruit and whipping thistle 😂 — 7 years ago
Dreamlike aromatics. Perfumes, lavander, wildflower, honeysuckle. Ripe-ripe peachy notes. Ripe nectarines, ripe pears. Finishes with a delicate comb of star-thistle honey. Inviting and gorgeous. — 7 years ago
With each sip of this tropical fruit and honeysuckle explosion, my mind’s eye builds another block of my future backyard habitat and eagerly anticipates the inevitable butterfly perfusion — monarchs in time-lapse fanning out to take up temporary residence in every inch of milkweed, bull thistle, and salvia. While I can’t stop environmental destruction, I can create my own environmental insurrection. Monterey Wine Club. D: “Deep Taste David” feels “refreshed” by this buttery, lemony, something-or-other. — 8 years ago
Beautiful pungent nose that puts forth like a plum compote or jam, pine sap, perfumed florals, hints at dark red fruits, and maybe a little smoke, and something that makes me think of mushrooms and thistle (though that could just be me) with some peppery grass at the finish. Medium body, with notes of roasted meat, earthy tannin, tart rich plum, and prominent spiced notes. Rich, dark, and extremely expressive without being a fruit juice bomb this is a really good pinot. — 2 years ago
Sue Bell has used all Italian varietals, quite aromatic at that, to make this very tasty Rosato, hence the term. Including the southern Sicilian red Nero d”Avola, Barbera, and Pinot Grigio. Aromas of strawberry, red cherry and thistle. Very smashable. Store in cellar till you run out and need another case. — 4 years ago

Very dark crimson in colour with youthful purple rim. Black and blue fruits with a note of black pepper and thistle. Another rich Barossa perfect for Winter. A full bodied palate with black fruits and that pepper there on the palate. Well controlled oak influence with 18 months in French Oak puncheons new (11%), balance 1 year and older. When I first tried this at the Yalumba dinner last year I preferred this wine to some of Yalumba’s high priced Cuvées like the Octavius and The Caley. — 6 years ago
Absolutely gorgeous! Ripe, fleshy pear & peaches in light syrup, a touch of star thistle honey. Delicate, soft herbaceousness: coriander, basil flowers, ripe papaya skin/fiber. Soooo lovely. — 7 years ago
One of the best ales I have ever consumed — 8 years ago
Great everyday Rhône. Bramble, thistle, thicket, woodsy and baked fruit on the nose....with a mouthful of ripe red fruit, tannin and iron. Yum. — 8 years ago
