Poggio al Tesoro

Sondraia Bolgheri Superiore Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2015

An amazingly complex blend showing both the terroir of this region while impressing on the recipient the able craftsmanship of this finely blended cab, merlot & can franc. Great acid and tannic blend that’s ready now and should hold up for a decade or more. One of the best wines I’ve enjoyed in years. — 6 years ago

Poggio San Polo

Rubio Toscana Sangiovese Blend 2001

Super tuscan, 80% sangiovese, 20% cabernet sauvignon. Smooth, aromatics earthy & curranty. Given past its due date-surprised at how much stuffing is left. Lucky to be the recipient of our neighbors generosity-parent emptying out his wine cellar... — 8 years ago

Castello di Querceto

Chianti Sangiovese Blend 2022

It is just a generic Chianti, not a Classico, but to be honest it's a great example of a vibrant, easy drinking, no brainer Sangiovese from that area.

For the price ot is a must go wine that has a too small recipient.

Not complicated, but decently long.

Friuli Grave Pinot Grigio

Tastes like a crisp tart apple, with a kick of spice in after taste. Refreshing. — 2 years ago

Mes Vieilles Vignes Brut Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Champagne Chardonnay 2008

08 Dhondt Mes Vieilles Vignes BdB. Chet and I traded a few bottles of bubbly and I was the lucky recipient of this one. What a beautiful wine. Creamy pretty layered fruit, very smooth and refined, nice mousse, great length, a very lovely Champagne that reminded me of Comtes. Need more! — 6 years ago

Focu Nero d'Avola 2022

@Delectable Wine
This is a red called Focu from Racina Wine from the Costa Viola in Calabria, located just in front of the Messina Strait.
Field blend, perhaps mainly greco Nero, but it has every red varieties that you could find in the vineyard so it is really hard to tell
Carbonic fermentation
It has a little fizz, gentle and pleasant i must say
It is a 'vino contadino' or 'peasant wine' 2.0, or just a better version if you prefer
Super easy drinking and no edges or harshness at all
The one litre recipient is needed
Delicious

Fattoria Selvapiana

Chianti Rùfina Sangiovese Blend 2016

Rufina worth reaching for. Tannins, acidity, fruit all playing a wonderful Symphony together! Had another bottle of this last night, & got a great floral character in the mid palate. Just enough complexity to keep the recipient engaged. — 4 years ago
