Animale, iron, iodine, very mineral as well, great redfruits, wonderful acidity, very long, lingering finish, frankly a great St. Joseph, first time I’ve had this wine, but I think @Tom Casagrande nailed it in his review of the 2018!! — 2 months ago

@Tom Casagrande, weird thing yesterday when using Delectable — my posting of this wine showed up immediately (maybe because I tagged you??), and the Stoplman still doesn’t show up in my own feed?? I will note that the 2023 Stolpman was just like those 2 Tablas Creek reds (Grenache and Counoise) that I also panned because they were way too light yet were 14% ABV.

@Doug Powers - Seems like all the Kool Kids are trying to do Kool-Aid Grenache these days. An overreaction to CDPs now routinely hitting 16% and hitting the palate like liquid lead?

Had the 2023 in December of 2025. Paired with beef burgundy and was most enjoyable. Fruits-cherry and berry. Silky smooth tannins. Hint (?) of spice on the end. Plan to get a couple more bottles of this next time I go to Costco. Especially at the price point! — a month ago
