Just arrived in Montevideo at the Hyatt after 3 hour flight from Rio. Had a salad and tortellini's but felt like a red from Uruguay. After consulting the head waiter our Jr waiter said a "Tanto" from Uruguay is a red like between cab and merlot. Went for it and enjoyed it. Not too complex. Straight at me. Loved it actually and I slept well! Now I know what a Tanto is. Tanta/Tato? Will know before I leave. — 9 years ago

A 60/40 blend of Arinto & Antão Vaz grown on red sandstone and aged 12m in French and American oak.
Nice & cool on the nose with a bit of sesame reduction and exotic, yellow fruit. Nice purity here & freshness. The wood is well integrated and plays the back fiddle.
Medium bodied in the palate with a bit of breadth & great flow. Poised & balanced, this is quite elegant. Great with food but also for sipping solo.
Good stuff! — a year ago
