Big mint chocolate, spruce, damson reduction, cinnamon dusted cedar, ripest blackberry, violet, vanilla bean and even a shadow of juniper on this warm and fuzzy Howell Mountain nose. Medium mouthfeel echoes the damson, presenting bay leaf, smoky raspberry, a touch of graphite and blueberry skins in a tightly rolled and endlessly layered sub-strata that stretches to the horizon. #Trio #bravantevineyards #howell #howellmountain #napavalleyred #napawine #Napa — 6 years ago
2009. Mint, eucalyptus, cedar dust, dried raspberry, orange peel, pomegranate, and sage. Showing some brick tinges but no flavor deterioration. Cinnamon, cedar and dried maduro, savory, cranberry and dusty raspberry, roobios tea, cracked pepper, cardamom, nutmeg and a tiny bit of blistered pepper.
Intense and silky; shifting strata of immense complexity.

Really nice wine, drank while watching a movie, really enjoyed. — 4 years ago
I contain multitudes and so does J. Especially the STRATA a wine as layered as the soil it comes from but way more elegant than dirt. It’s more like one of those patterned sand gardens someone raked. Berry rich but light, fills your mouth without coating it. Finish goes onnnnn. Also pairs with a certain favorite layered food tbd. — 5 years ago

Very surprised by this! Extremely light, but full of flavor. Great with seafood! — 4 years ago
Hey hiiii I opened this for my first solo pod recording but don’t you babies worry I drunk dialed a friend at the end so you hear someone else. This wine‽ Smells like what you thought high-school-autumn would taste like in junior high. Tastes like a damn good adult vacay to say...I dunno autumn leaves in Vermont? I’ve never done that but if I’m ever allowed to leave LA again (“Safer at Home” mandates staying in place so I dream). Essentially this is your perfect Cali Pinot. If called to make a J Vineyards fave call? Well I would need to taste this beside the Strata bottling (in my Taco Bell pairing column) but gosh it’s good. — 5 years ago
