Very addictive true Nebbiolo aroma. No fault whatsoever and quite an ideal Piedmont Red. — 5 years ago
Had this in Rome at the cutest little bar, surrounded by Italians : D. Il Sorpasso by the Vatican. Fabulous wine! Not as harsh as a Nebbiolo. Smooth and medium bodied, medium dryness. — 7 years ago
Nice, dry white wine, like a vinho verde or a Chablis. Not as tropical/acidic as a Sauvingnon Blanc. Porch pounder. Had at the cutest little place in Rome amidst locals! Il Sorpasso. — 7 years ago

Glimmering bright ruby color. The nose is poised delicately between fruit/flowers and more earthy, leathery tones. Palate has riper, almost sweeter, fruit profile than you’d expect. Succulent. Balanced nicely against the luxurious secondary flavors (tar, leather). Wonderfully lifted by tart fruit acids. Subtle tannins. Gorgeous. Tremendous value drinking 3x it’s price($32) — 4 years ago
