One of my tasters at the Chardonnay tasting last Saturday was a Sommelier who has the WSET Level 4 Diploma. He kindly brought along this Left Bank Bordeaux which was given to him to try. La Liberte symbolises breaking free of the 1855 Bordeaux Classification complimenting it with a new scientific one based on soil grading. The first La Liberte is a 2015, a tribute to the most beautiful terroir on the left bank. Black fruits, dense and full bodied with Bordeaux rose petals. Profound palate intensity. From the excellent 2015 vintage with several decades in front of it. Sells for $1200 in Australia so very generous of Pete to bring it along. Even though it is Left Bank the blend is 60% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 20% Petit Verdot. Smooth supple tannins with great length. — 2 years ago
