Great rioja for the price. Great flavors of vanilla and warm spice. Thin body but nice structure otherwise. Crisp for a rioja. — a month ago

Blend of 86% Tempranillo, 8% Graciano, 4% Mazuelo (Cariñena) and 2% Garnacha, grapes and various plots fermented separately, aged for 20 months in American oak, then blended. Deep Ruby color with aromas of ripe black fruits and floral spice notes. On the palate flavors of cherry, blackberry and plum with notes of leather, vanilla and oaky notes. Fine tannins, long finish, lively acidity ending with fruit, sweet oak and spice. Nice! ‘17 a bit better! — 4 months ago

For me it is “all that “. Like a fresh Selosse without bubbles.
Sensory overload on the nose and palate. The level of freshness at this stage is amazing. A little of everything, oxidative, salinity , orchard fruit, subtle wood , that makes this a true sum of the parts wine. Acid for days .3 dimensional in the mouth with a never ending finish. The food match of the day with lobster and morels. — 9 months ago

A dark and dense deep burgundy in the glass with tiny purple accents and no signs of bricking. The nose is rather delightful but you have to give it time. Primarily oak and tobacco notes for the first few hours but the fruit begins to express itself more and more as time goes by. Blue and blackberries with a touch of rhubarb and plums. There’s an earthy element that begins to shine on day two.
There are good values in wine and then there’s this. At fourteen years this is still fresh as a daisy and oh so vibrant. Old school and just so correct. A nice level of complexity and full of personality and charm for days. Full bodied, dry, and savory. The oak never threatens to overwhelm in the mouth, instead you get leather and smoke with enough black fruit. A medium long finish keeps you coming back. An easy favorite. — 24 days ago
