Santa Barbara County Pinot Noir 2018

Just tried a third bottle over past 6 months. A light style Pinot, something I would find from OR, not Santa Barbara, however this bottle was a bit more pronounced in aromas and flavors. Medium Ruby with aromas of red fruits and spice. On the palate ripe raspberry and wild juicy cherry with cola, oak and earthy notes. Developing with integrated soft tannins, well defined, elegant with underlying richness, long finish ending with flinty mineral character. Outstanding value! — 4 days ago

Smash City Pinot Noir 2015

This was a monster truck Pinot for sure. Not to be paired lightly with food and not to be mistaken for a Burgundy. This has extraction, alcohol, and tons of flavor. Different but fun. — 3 days ago

Clark & Telephone Vineyard Pinot Noir 2017

Fruit forward at PnP but as it opened it revealed dark chocolate and tobacco notes as well as a faint oakiness w a slightly tannic finish. Really nice. — 3 days ago

Funk Zone

Santa Barbara County Rosé Grenache Syrah 2019

This bottle was left at my birthday picnic, so we took it home not thinking much of it.

Roses, gummy bears, and strawberries.

Wow, unexpectedly great. Always a wonderful feeling when you’re not expecting anything.

Blood oranges flirt with rose petals, and threesome with grapefruit gummy bears to make a tart, refreshing, savory, and slightly pleasingly astringent autumn wine.

Huntington Pinot Noir 2016

This is comfort food Pinot. I paired tonight’s bottle with homemade chicken and biscuits veggie pie. Heaven! Perfect cool climate cherry forward wine with foresty flooriness. Also married well with the truffle Brie appetizer. Fall season delight! — 20 hours ago

I’ve considered this to be a great PN for the money.

Santa Maria Valley Syrah 2016

Young and fruit driven. Everything is there and the last sip was the best. Open this for hours or try to keep a few years. — 8 days ago

Cobolorum Petillant Naturel Riesling

Finally got our couch! And our coffee table lesgoooo!

Sage leaf, orange zest, honey in the bouquet. And a little funk.

Wow. Zing! Karpow! Boom! I call this a comic book wine because it literally jumps off the page and into your taste buds.

Not bad at all. Thanks NYT.

Watch Hill Vineyard Grenache 2017

A food-loving Grenache from CA—yay! Plenty of cran-ripe acid. Lighter on the spice, higher on the acid. Grilled veggies, charred tomatoes and bell peppers, and a nice Italian Beyond sausage: just what this glass calls for! — a day ago
