White Foil Brut Champagne Blend

Hoped for better!

Lemon, lime, grapefruit, pineapple, lightly bruised green apple, pronounced minerality, understated soft chalkiness, some bread bough, Jasmine & spring flowers, good acidity with a rich polished finish.

@Ron R I’ve has their White Foil a number of times before. My comment of “hoped for better” was really directed st Emirates Airlines Business Class Lounge. Based on their perception of service for their Business Class passengers, I expected better given what they charge and their self marketing. Overall good but they have a few areas that definitely need to be improved. Wine offerings is certainly one.

Cuvée Prestige Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend 1998

A very enjoyable 21 year old Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Showing black fruits and chocolates, earth, vegetables, graphite, spices, herbs, wood, earth, peppercorn, oak, vanilla and licorice.

Full bodied and bold with firm tannins and long finish. Needs 90 minutes to open up properly and show the big tannins.

Still has many years in it. Very powerful with elegance.

15% alcohol by volume.

92 points.

Grand Cru Vielles Vignes Champagne

I was shockingly surprised with this one. Very pleased. This felt like I was dancing in the rain, while laying in a field of flowers. The fruity notes are wonderful. I don't know how else to describe this wonderful champagne! This was most definitely a winner!! You will impress with this one for sure! — 24 days ago
