Delicious, aged beautifully. Earthy, dark fruits, velvety with good structure. — a day ago
Fruity, with a taste of Pseudocydonia sinensis, or Chinese quince. The bottle says pineapple flavor, but is more citrus. Golden orange color. Got this some time ago at a Massachusetts local winery, near Amherst. Very nice wine! — 13 days ago
If it didn’t have such a weird name I probably wouldn’t have bought it, hefty decant needed but 😳👍🏼

Showing beautifully from barrel and not disappointing from bottle, the 2012 Hommage a Francois Durif No. 1 (I reviewed this last year as the Petite Sirah) is a blend of 100% Petite Sirah that's certainly one of the finest examples of this variety coming out of California. Inky colored and a big, voluptuous and decadent beauty, it offers terrific notes of blackcurrants, plum, toasted spice, leather, graphite and espresso. Full-bodied, concentrated, rich and yet always balanced and light on its feet, it has sensational purity of fruit, a big, rich mid-palate and tons of sweet tannin that coat the palate and lengthen the finish. I wouldn't open another bottle for 2-3 years, but it will have 15-20 years of longevity. — 9 days ago
Kukeri Wines Stags Leap District Proprietary Red Blend 2018 Napa Valley, California
It’s time for a nice Cabernet for my #FridayCabernetfix.
Dark ruby in color with a reddish rim.
Strong nose of blackberries, black currants, cooked plums, cedar, earth, vanilla, licorice, espresso, pencil lead, black pepper, spices, herbs and light vegetables.
Full-bodied, big and smooth, with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with blackberries, black currants, black plums, oak, licorice, spices, coffee, cola, pencil lead, light peppercorn, vegetables, vanilla, earth and beef jerky.
Medium plus on the finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.
This young Bordeaux blend from Stags Leap is spicy and interesting, and already drinking very nicely. Fruit forward and nicely balanced.
Showing nice complexity with a great mouthfeel. Tasty and rich, soft and warm.
Needs 2 hours to open up properly, so be patient.
Showing great potential to be a great 95+ point wine, and will age nicely in the next 15 years. A good quality wine that would be nice to revisit in 5 to 10 years.
I paired it with a Charcuterie board of meats and cheeses. Will pair nicely with BBQ Meats.
A blend of 52% Cabernet Franc, 39% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Malbec, 3% Merlot and 2% Petit Verdot. A small production of only 290 cases. Aged in French and American oak barrels for 18 months.
14.5% alcohol by volume.

Delicious fruit, raspberry and boysenberry. Dark notes in the direction of chocolate and Fig, nuance without being the direct flavor profiles (wrapper of dark chocolate bar etc) . Woody notes from Tannin, and interesting milky aspect at times.
Enjoy young (now-3years) fruit is fantastic, tannins are fine and smooth.
Very happy with this selection, great PQR.
Give a min 1.5 hour decant, if not 3 hours. Didn’t decant, keeps getting better with more air & time. Second day is great.
Very yummy, more please. — 9 days ago
Nose has cranberry sauce, red Twizzler® candy, white pepper, ripe plum, mashed red raspberry and lightly toasted oak.
Palate has ripe cherry, ripe red raspberry, fresh cranberry, light ripe plum with mild (drying) tannins and a medium finish.
Cork pulled for a 4H slow oxidation, then 1H decant. This wine is still a teenager, the 2016 should easily hold thru 2024.
Blend of Pinot Noir & Blaufränkisch.
Paired to lemon chicken in a dill cream sauce; cast iron pan from stove top to oven, becoming our most versatile piece of cookware! — 21 hours ago
Dark Ruby with aromas of ripe dark berry fruits, herbs and spice, aged for 20 months in French oak (75% new). On the palate black cherry and black currant flavors with oak, vanilla and earthy notes. Well balanced, fine ripe dusty tannins, long finish ending with fruit, oak, espresso notes and pepper spice! Nice! Drinks well now, aging??? -check back in a year or so! I have a few in the cellar!! — 3 days ago
These are crafted with such elegance.
Straw berries and slight Smokey tones, a nice nose.
After. 4 hour decant, this is a medium bodied Claret, with a elegant fruit, berry and pit. Solid backbone, small tannins, yet enough to complete this. The acidity straightforward, and long.
