From the Rata wine list in Queenstown. Label and capsule indicates it's a recent release from the Domaine. Opened, decanted and poured. Deep dark ruby. Opaque. Wow nose. Notes of blackberries, currant, cherry, smoke and anise. Velvet texture in the mouth. Tannins nicely resolved leaving lots of rich fruit; developing great secondary characteristics. Silky. Amazing right out of the gate and over 2 hours at the table. — 8 years ago
Very fresh and very tasty. A gooseberry, a citrus, an apple, tropical fruits in general, a grapefruit finish. Summer of 2020 - summer of sauvignon blanc (from New Zealand, mostly). :) — 4 years ago
Drank with salmon. Nice with food very fresh — 5 years ago
Mid ruby, smooth ripe blackberries, dry, fine tannins. Creamy, spicy warm dark red fruity berries, smooth rounded flavours with a long finish.
A good wine that celebrates and indeed supports the conservation of the rata trees, whose bloom features on the label. — 10 years ago
