A birth year bottle on my 60th with all my best friends to share, just incredible with my birthday pecan pie, pure joy! — 2 months ago

Quinta do Noval

Vintage Port Blend 2018

2018 vintage. Decanted and tasted after two hours. Sediment new sludgy vs old chunky. Massive, brawny, pointing fingers and looking to pick a fight that you won't win. Maybe you can best it in five decades. Maybe. 12.17.23. — 3 months ago

Quinta do Vale Meão

Meandro Douro Red Blend 2020

Blend of 50% Touriga Nacional, 35% Touriga Franca, 10% Tinta Roriz, 4% Tinta Barroca & 1% Alicante Bouschet, aged in used French oak for 14 months, aromas of fresh dark berry flavors with herb, spice and cedar notes. On the palate flavors of blueberry and plum with licorice, cedar, espresso and spicy herbs. Fine ripe tannins, medium finish ending with fruit, cedar, spice and herb character. Nice value! — 2 months ago

Quinta de Vargellas Vintage Port 1995

Dec. 25, 2023. Probably past prime. But 'tis the season, so used it for NYTimes recipe Port Toddies. Merry and bright halfway through my second. Looking forward to finishing bottle on New Years Day. — 2 months ago

Quinta do Noval

Vintage Port Nacional 1962

1962 vintage. Decanted and tasted immediately and over the course of two hours. As with all of these older vintage port corks, a Durand is a helpful "suggestion" but a funnel with a fine filtering screen is essential. Wowzers. Plenty grippy on the back end and drinking as if awakened from a nap-guilty as charged. Needs another 15 years to “let it go.” Remarkable complexity. Holy bleep.
