Pro ratings are on the mark here. Refreshing #grunerveltliner from #weinviertel. Lovely wet chalk, faint chives and vegetal notes, crisp acidity, touch of spritz when you first open the bottle and some citrus and white pepper on the finish. Here is your green salad slayer pairing wine. — 4 years ago
2000 vintage was better than pro rating. Still a little watery. Slightly delicate. But it had good color and no bitterness. — 5 years ago
Very jammy, berry and fruit forward. Medium bodied. Good with or without food. — 2 years ago
It is dark purple in color. There are black fruit aromas in the nose, high tannin, rich, cherry, plum, blackberry aromas on the palate. There are vanilla, cedar and pro aromas coming from the barrel.
It is suitable for aging.
It goes well with steak, lamb and meat. — 4 years ago
On a different planet ... the nose is burgundian to the nth degree. Mature fruits yet still lifted by a bead of acidity. Earthy flavors are beginning to show up but the wine is still very primary. It is wines like these that make me remember why i fell in love with pinot. — 5 years ago
(Disgorged 2/15)- Always and forever my number 1 Lieux-Dits and without question one of the very best Blanc de Blancs Champagnes on the planet, tonight it is extra special with its coveted 2008 base and 2015 disgorgement. Always with imposing power, drive and crazy depth to its layers, it unfurls in a Burgundy glass to reveal its complex core of rich orchard fruit, roasted nuts, gun smoke, toasty oak and candied white flowers, all with seamless integration and balance. The palate is generous and detailed, with ripping citrusy acids, waves of saline laced chalky Le Mesnil minerals and a finish that just keeps going. For me, a BdB benchmark. — 2 years ago

The pro rating of 7.0 is a damn lie. This is like a 9.5. Come at me, “pro”! — 5 years ago

NV. Color an impossibly light emerald green. A high, airy nose that flirtatiously disregards the soft tissue of the sinuses and impresses the cranial cavity. Possessing more finesse than should be possible on this earthly planet. The standard green Chartreuse is my fave liqueur but this enters a different dimension. Easily the best liquid or solid I’ve tasted in 2025. 05.05.25 — 18 days ago
