Oak treatment deceives on the nose. Palate displays beautiful weight and texture without gratuitous barrel influence. Butteaux is known for exuding richness, especially in warmer vintages and Piuze delivers without sacrificing acidic tension, fruit purity, and
minerality. Beautiful wine. Decant if drinking now. — 5 months ago

89% Cabernet Sauvignon and 11% Petite Verdot. Dark ruby color with some purple highlights and a thin garnet rim. Aromas of black fruit, cocoa, cola and a very noticeable hint of mint. The full bodied palate features black berry/plum/cherry fruit, tobacco, dark chocolate, dried herbs, baking spices and black pepper. Long and lingering earthy finish features a touch of vanilla. Big structure, savory and well softened tannins. Aging nicely. Thanks for the bottle, John P. — 4 months ago
Opened 10 days ago. Just a bit too oxidized but after a few days in Cali bothers it settled down and be a serviceable food wine, good acidity, not much complexity, oxidation blew off. — 8 months ago
