While its name doesn’t sound like an SB from NZ, it sure tastes like one. Pronounced passion fruit, a little green apple, and more lime than other Sauv Blancs. Refreshing and great value at TJs. — 4 months ago
1 hour decant (little fine/cloudy sediment). A remarkable dark purplish magenta color. On the nose: tart cherry, creme de cassis, eucalyptus, orange rind, cinnamon. Taste: smooth, soft, rich, juicy wine with cherry/raspberry, leather, herbaceous, graphite, little spiced chocolate espresso and a nice medium plus finish. YUM! Bodes well for the 2015 Scarecrow wine, and I should pop one to check it out. — 2 years ago
Deep ruby in color with slight brick color on the rim. Nose is quite pleasing with berry compote, lavender, and dark chocolate. Also a bit of earthiness. Wow. A great mouthfeel on this wine. Well balanced with tannins still a bit heavy. That said, I like my wines with a bit more tannic backbone. These notes are from pop and pour taste. Will let it open up a bit and will update if it changes significantly. — 2 months ago
The 2023 Sauvignon Blanc is light in body but dense in concentration because of low yields. It's almost silvery in color and restrained due to hand-picking, leading to pure grapefruit, passion fruit and nectarine, all delivered with focus and punch. The finish is long, precise and sinewy. $23.00 (Rebecca Gibb MW, Vinous, July 2024) — 9 months ago
Pop and pour at Luce in San Francisco. A majestic dark ruby red color. On the nose: bursting from the glass are beautiful notes of plum, stewed meat, cedar, some black raspberry, smoke, floral. Taste: smooth, rich, juicy wine with dark fruit, worn leather, meaty, bitter chocolate, and a spiced graphite long finish. YUM! A day before fire up for the Kevin Hart show in SF. Cheers! — 3 years ago
Wow 🤩 - Deep gold color. Aromas of burnt honey, pineapple, dried apricot, passion fruit and eucalyptus. Simply divine on the palate - orange, apricot and dried fruit.

Pop and pour. A majestic medium gold color. On the nose: apple, lemon, crushed granite, vanilla oak, herbs, ripe peach. Taste: silky composed wine with apple, lemon, minerals, saline, lime peel, white pepper, and some tangerine. YUM! plenty of acidity and entering a waxy phase as it ages. — 2 months ago
