Austere and elegant like an old Catholic matriarch. Dry on the palate, with soft aromas of cherry and vanilla. It pops with tart stone fruit up front, and lingers with leather and tobacco and faint baking spice. Pairs excellently with chicken, Parks and Recreation, and popcorn. — 4 years ago

Getting Saturday started with a 375ml of Ruinart Rosé as we continue to plan our trip to Stellenbosch and three national parks.
The nose is so delicate & subtle. Perfume pink rose petals, sea spray, saline, sea fossils, soft powdery chalkiness. Pink grapefruit, strawberries, dark cherries, lean watermelon, hints of tangerine, cherries and watermelon. Some brioche & bread dough.
The palate fruits are, deep, ripe; pink grapefruit, strawberries, dark cherries, lean watermelon, hints of tangerine, cherries and watermelon. Sea spray, saline, sea fossils, soft powdery chalkiness, powdery grey volcanic minerals that penetrate and stick to the palate. Brioche & bread dough and pink rose petals. The acidity is perfect. The mouthfeel beautifully rich & lush. The finish is well balanced and well polished.

Smooth, not as sweet as I expected from the description. Great with my dinner :) — 8 years ago

Just wonderful. 6/7 first wine home from Parks trip. 20 years in and it’s in my perfect drinking window where fruits faded enough for tertiary notes to come forth but still very present. Better get through these vintages in the stash. Pleasure, and depth. — 2 years ago
