Like revenge, this is best serve chilled (even though it is a red). A fascinating combination of CF, Grolleau Noir, CS, Pinot d’Aunis and Gamay. Hand-harvested 75% from the estate, rest from neighbors. This wine has great texture and structure. 12% abv. From the family Ogreau, who apparently, are also musicians. $27 — a year ago
95% Syrah, 5% Viognier. Beautiful Rhône red. Quite intense with darker fruits and blueberries. Some meaty/iron notes, black pepper and green olive. Floral dried lavender from the Viognier. Lengthy finish with a gentle tannic grip. Hard to say if I like this better than Vernay’s Saint-Joseph. With John Prine’s Sweet Revenge (1st press) @Dave — 3 months ago
A wild ride from the underappreciated west coast of the western cape. Chenin grapes foot stomped and fermented 50/50 in stainless and 4th-fill oak barrels, then combined and aged nine months in those barrels. It goes places — 2 years ago
Light Malbec freedom nature's own — 5 years ago
Specific parcel of the South Oak vineyard that has finally after 15 years of working organically been also certified organic.
Here skin of the grapes are a bit thicker and that reflects in the wine finding a bit more texture and oilness.
This sauvignon blanc reminds of a European wine more than a Marlborough SB, you could call Fiano, Verdicchio or Friulano if you were in Italy.
A wine to pair food exceptionally.
White meat or fat fish like a barra or a sword fish.

100% Chardonnay based Pet Nat from the Languedoc Region of France. Light yellow color. Aromas of yeast, white flowers and apples. Flavors of green apple, biscuits, pears, honey, orange zest and almonds. Hint of lime on the finish. Crisp acidity, vivacious bubbles, and a creamy texture. Low alcohol (11.5%). Refreshing and perfect for a hot and sunny day. Thanks for the taste, Kase! — 3 months ago
