Excellent power chard, loads of fruit on the nose and comes through on the palate - reminiscent of the patz&hall but more refined - not sure if the age pumps it up or mellows it down but hasn’t lost any mojo — 3 years ago

Thank you, George!!
Dont have a tech sheet, but will guess Zinfandel and Petit Sirah are percentages in the blend.
Wine still has baby fat. Needs 6+ months bottle time (July ‘21 earliest) fantastic late September onward. Bonkers right now. Love to see in 2024, at seven years. Good Mojo. — 5 years ago
Surprisingly good...to the point that it would hard to taste the “Virginia” in this, let alone the ‘Loudoun’! As Pete referenced, this is mostly Tannat (and Doug has a good track record with the Tannic-tempter”). The taste is a mashup of NorCal wild Zin & Petite Sirah w/12.5% Merlot ;) That the brown-bag taste. The “it’s from Virginia“ taste indicators was a flat Cheerwine cola mojo. Dark berry fruit acid grabs you right away...a delicate dance of coffee and briar compote escort a sturdy structure mid-palate off the stage. The Virginia Tannat is woven into the blend such that it isn’t articulate or distinguished. Nevertheless, this was punchy mid week red that had brownbag surprise written all over it! — 7 years ago
2016 vintage. Last tasted 11.06.24 (9.2). This has come together a bit more since then. One thing I can tell you is you got to be free. Showy dark cherry and oak marriage with spices aplenty. Medium body alongside respectable mojo filter tannins. Fun and built for speed. 08.14.25. — 10 months ago
Good BDX. Medium bodied, good acidity. Missing some of the 15 mojo. — 5 years ago
I’m not that into this one. It HAS TO BE ICONIC. But Iconic leads to over extracted over sexed over. Just lacking finesse. Lacking intrigue. Don’t get me wrong. It’s delicious and I don’t mind drinking it and can age in the bottle but it’s missing it’s MOJO. #petitesirah #alicantebouschet #zinfandel and #carignane #sonoma #sonomacounty — 6 years ago
