The nose on the ‘21 Areio e Vento e Amor hits you from 5 ft away, full of ripe fruit but also chocolate, mushroom, and brush. It’s a translucent purple with a touch of Evangelho dusty-ness in the glass. Smooth and balanced with mild tannins at first, it opened up in the glass and alongside food to some intense berry jam and pepper flavors. — 10 months ago
If I had been tasting this blind, I may have guessed it to be German. Although, there is an individuality here that is uniquely Bay Area, CA. Nice floral aromas, along with some key lime pie. Citrus notes on the palate, along with sponge cake! Interestingly, I caught a bit of cigar smoke on the finish! 50% Gewürztraminer, 50% Riesling. 7/12/22. — 2 years ago
Evangelho Carignan is back from Bedrock for the ‘22 vintage and this one is loaded with potential. It’s got firm tannins, plentiful zip, and lots of bright berries at this very young age. The nose is deeper and sweeter, maybe belying more balance to come. And for those that like the way a glass looks, perhaps the most stunning color I’ve seen, from deep, dusty purple to near dayglo pink on the edges. Worth a look and taste (and some cellaring if you have more than one)! — 3 months ago

Dark and thick. Inky dark fruit, blackberry, menthol, black plum skin, bramble, some oak. Tannins sit on top of the tongue. Acidity trickles down the side. There’s an initial tartness, maybe the black plum skin. The menthol and wood notes creep in with leather emerging. Blackberry and bramble round out the flavor. This is the best I’ve had from 3 Wine Co. — 3 years ago
The 2022 Evangelho Heritage blend by Bedrock is very light on its feet with a streak of bracing acidity — almost effervescence — along with light tannins. It’s a deep hazy purple in its youth with a nose of tart berry compote and leather. Seems like it will mature nicely. — 5 months ago
Good character but not inspiring. Unidimensional. — a year ago
