Wine is incredibly dark and brooding. Very dense and heavy taste and texture right out of the bottle.
Drank over about 3 hours. Oxygen was this wines friend and the wine opened up quite a bit to reveal more bright and red fruit to complement the black fruit and density which also gave way as it breathed.
Not a blockbuster from a complexity perspective and lacked the punch of something special. But a solid oakville cab nonetheless and not too oaky. — a day ago
Citrus, super grapefruit, white flowers, and so much slate. Superb palate, concentrated, rocky and huge acids and energy and such chewy citrus. Kerosene on the nose and awesome confectionary inner mouth aromas. — 2 months ago
Saline, floral, iodine aromas and flavors, very savory with some nice redfruits, longish finish, lovely acidity and freshness, excellent Syrah!! — 2 months ago
@Tom Casagrande, the early Texier wines always had “bracing” acidity (which I happen to love, but I acquired some of these earlier vintages cheap because others who preferred less acidity were dumping their purchases). I believe that’s why these early Brezemes have lasted so easily and so long.
Fell out of habit of delectable-ing but this terroir driven Willamette Pinot reminded me to keep documenting the yummmz! Clay, herbs, luxardo cherry (without the syrupy sweet). — a month ago
Nice wine, but a bit less full and interesting than I was hoping. Slightly thin and almost a bit watery. Still nice refinement and a decent finish. — 2 months ago
@Tyler Felous I’m not sure. I’ve had other bottlings - both younger and older - that I quite enjoyed. But for the price the variability is disappointing.
Classic CDP. Bright fruit, mellow tannins. And that certain chewiness that screams for a steak dinner. Hints of crushed pepper. Very balanced. — 2 months ago
