Quite unusual, in a palate expanding kind of way. Quite beautifully aromatic with some nice nutty notes. Subtle and restrained white fruit comes through, but more nuttiness and some floral / stone fruits. Have not had Manzoni Bianco before - apparently a cross between Riesling and Pinot bianco, which shows. Fun one to try. — 8 days ago
Another lovely Terlan wine from the Dolomites. We enjoyed sipping these clean whites in the mountains last summer. Crisp notes of pear and lemon grass, no oak influence, bone-dry, a little extra complexity from aging on the lees. Pinot Blanc should be on more wine lists... no bitter finish and a lovely alternative to most Pinot Grigio. — 3 days ago
Bianco Antico sees a ridiculous 180 days on the skins of Malvasia di Candia Aromatica (different from plain Malvasia). It’s a grippy fully hopped juicy East Coast IPA. Copper tone. Bitter citrus and green tea and grapefruit.
Must love orange wine. Must love bitter dry. — 8 days ago
Blend of Pignoletto, Trebbiano, SB, and Verdicchio from Monteveglio near Bologna. A dry but fruity orange wine that’s quite delicate and 11% abv. Very old vines, (69-90 yrs) grown wild. Buriana is derived from “Burian”, a Siberian stormy, cold wind. Azienda Gradizzolo is a very small family-run winery known for bringing together regional wines and food - can’t wait to visit ! — 5 days ago
