Nice, well-rounded CR, open and charming with lovely freshness. Fruity and brisk at first, slowly developed with more savory and floral nuances coming out with air. Day 2 was rocking. Black cherry/roast plum, violet, garrigue, singed wood, dried olives, granite. — 6 years ago
What a nose. Gorgeous leather, flowers, beef blood, smoked meats, gamey, floral like crazy, so so aromatic. Superb aromas. 9.5 on the nose. So clean, layered and pure. Just a stunning nose. Truly a thing of beauty. Palate is silky, deep, substantial and gamey. Velvety tannins and terrific freshness. Long finish and super pure fruit on the palate. Significant tannins. So so elegant. What a wine. Terrific inner mouth aromas and so pretty. Inner mouth florals mixed with meats. Commentated and exquisite fruit. Totally whack wine. Best 14 CR I’ve had. — 6 years ago

1998 Sassicaia. Dinner w J&L Sh and J&L B at Cr. Had been standing this up for a few weeks. Decanted when we sat for dinner and drank abt an hour later. Great- nice fruit and richness to it. — 7 years ago
Ruby in color with a wide reddish rim and medium intensity.
Fruity nose with blackberries, blueberries, sweet strawberries, raspberries, wood, spices, earth, light vanilla, tobacco, coffee and peppercorn.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry and fruity on the palate with blackberries, black currants, sweet strawberries, wood, vanilla, cloves, herbs, earth, tobacco, coffee, light vegetables, chocolates, peppercorn and spices.
Medium plus in length on the finish with round tannins and tangy raspberries.
This is a very enjoyable Grenache from Sonoma valley. Nicely balanced with a nice mouthfeel.
Good right out of the bottle and better as it opens up and shows the tannins (60 minutes).
Tastes like a good quality Côte du Rhône red. Spicy and fruit forward.
Good by itself or with food. I paired it with cheeses and cured meats.
14.6% alcohol by volume.
89 points.

OC with CR, delish! Not too sweet, smooth finish — 8 years ago
Another tasty CR special. Very good. Medium body with a little bit of fruit but mostly smooth and spicy finish. — 5 years ago
18.5. First and second bottles of a case, tried several years ago, were hopeless - murky, flat. So gave up but didn’t discard the remaining 10, which resurfaced recently. My son and my ex-wife tried one a week ago and said wonderful. Last night, I confirmed that. No excessive wood, indeedno flaws. Nose best early on, faded a bit. But mouthfeel, fruit and length exceptional. An outstanding CR - definitely superior to Chapoutier la Mordoree 2005 that I had last week, which was fine but not outstanding. — 6 years ago
Delicious and full of energy. Not as polished as the CR, but distinctly northern Rhone and really good. — 6 years ago
Back on the diet.
The 2011 Jamet CR is one of the most consistent wines I’ve ever had. Over the course of about a dozen bottles, it was remained the same - pure, aromatic, drinkable and fresh. This was the first bottle I’ve had in a few months. It still has many of the qualities of earlier bottles, but there’s an intimation of maturity in the more complex aromatics and more supple tannins. — 7 years ago
Holy cr-p was this a bomb or what??? Brought by @Benoit Touquette it was amazing how just the nose and mouthfeel of this wine reminded me of one of the Bond wines, although I struggled to figure out which one. Someone suggested St Eden. Wish I had 10 more of these. — 8 years ago

My contribution to a large Rhône dinner. Standouts were ‘07 Chapoutier Le Meal Blanc, ‘89 and ‘90 Jaboulet La Chappelle, ‘11 Guigal La Mouline.
An over-generalization, but what I love about Cornas is the rusticity and sometimes feral nature of the wines (which I don’t find in Hermitage or CR) and this ‘05 is in that vein. I followed this from pop (after all, we are at the almost 20yr mark) and over the course of three hours.
Interplay of red and black berry fruits, black pepper, slightly herbal (maybe closer to potpurri floral) aromatically. Bright and nimble on the palate, nothing about this is ripe or soft. Energetic acidity all the way through surrounded by notes of iron (sanguine-like) and rocky minerality. Crunchy red and black fruits (whole-cluster?), hint of gaminess but not in the meaty-style I semi-expected. Clean and pure style of Syrah. Big structure at the finish…hard to imagine drinking this 10+yrs ago. Acidity and tannin will carry this a long time, but I think this is peak window for getting depth of fruit and complexity. — a year ago
