Medium ruby , quite narrow ruby pink rim . Light spice and mix of summer fruits , floral , seashell , mineral notes . Touch of scorched earth and cocoa . On the palate a mix of summer fruits, with a saline kick in the mid palate , long and involving, balanced alcohol, very balanced acidity with velvety but noticeable tannins . Very elegant and graceful . Will need time, but less than the Haut Brion , in 15-20 years this will be fantastic . — a day ago

Blend of 83% Tempranillo, 9% Graciano, 6% Mazuelo (Cariñena) and 2% Garnacha, grapes and various plots fermented separately, aged for 20 months in American oak, then blended. Deep Ruby color with aromas of ripe black fruits and floral spice notes. On the palate flavors of cherry, blackberry and plum with notes of leather, vanilla and oaky notes. Fine tannins, long finish, lively acidity ending with fruit, sweet oak and spice. Nice! — 18 days ago

Un tempranillo mezcla de rioja. este es mi tercero tempranillo desde rioja. espero sentirme un caballero. first scent was coke (cola) on the cork. hue is extremely dark. No clarity much turbidity in broad daylight. slight note of sweet cherry. much barrel and deep tannic tones of turbulence i find terrific. sour cherry on the tongue. Really dazzling deep wine brings the whole picnic and woodsy fairytale all together #tempranilloblend — 16 days ago

La Grande Dame Brut Champagne Blend 2004

Popped and poured to celebrate a pretty cool personal and professional achievement; enjoyed over a two hour period. This particular bottle has been stored in my cellar since release. The 2004 “La Grande Dame” pours a brilliant yellow color with medium+ viscosity and a persistent mousse of fine bubbles. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of golden raspberry, Meyer lemon, some apple, some brioche and nuts; just a touch oxidative. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. However, I feel compelled to share that this gave me the overall impression of a sort of liquid lemon-raspberry custard croissant with shaved almonds on top. It was awesome. The finish was long and there is some palpable density in this wine. So much so that I think these easily have another 10-15 years in them. That being said, this was yummy and I wouldn’t hesitate to enjoy now. — 18 days ago
