Sometimes an older bottle just hits and wow tbh is killing it? Nose is dusty bookshelves, old books, glorious spice and some faint cherry but the story is the palate. Wow. Just perfect. Sensual texture, hit of opulence, great acids and freshness, barely sweet fruit and killer length. What one wants out of an aged wine. Fantastical. — 3 months ago
Clear nose and very fresh. Chlorophyll, wet stones, celeriac, perfumed minerals. Gorgeous nose. Juicy and intense but also soft and accessible with lovely fruit and purity. Gentle and caressing with wonderful elegance and finesse. Juicy and engaging. Density without weight. This is “Bugstadter” Riesling. @Delectable Wine — 6 months ago
2013 drunk in 2024. Excellent honeyed character; long finish. — 20 days ago
Honeyed and rich on the attack, with great acidity on the finish. A little white pepper adds interest. — 4 months ago
13% a big Riesling for the area - Rheingau. Quite dieseled aka kerosene already. Nice but a little to simple for me. Mostly mandarine driven. Some tannins. Hint meyer lemon. Seems sweet despite the high. % for a white. — 6 months ago
Big 18 sunshine nose. Violets, mulch and spice. Some nice sweet wood as well. But just enormous spice. Very Fruh. Palate is so elegant and full of violets and wonderful inner mouth florals. Really nice opulent texture and just floats. Let’s see what air does. After air this gets more linear and gains edge and energy. Really different now than when it was p and p. — a month ago
