La Closerie Les Béguines Extra Brut Champagne Pinot Meunier

Last bottle from the 2008 vintage

Relatively low on pressure when uncorking. Small tight bubbles

👅This is rich with citrus, nuts, and bread. This has some smokiness and it is oxidative. There is nice acidity that remains noticeable through the finish. Finishes with a bitter quinine note and extra brut dryness

This is persistent and drinking well but I preferred this when it was fresher, crisper, and had some florality

Nice wine🥂🍇

Light gold; crisp, honeyed, floral and mineral nose; round palate of ripe fruit with pear and a hint of orange and mineral, and on the lingering finish citrus pith and salinity. — 6 days ago

La Closerie Fac-simile Extra Brut Pinot Meunier Rosé Champagne

LC 13. Whoa., glad I had with food. Mouth puckering acidity that holds the lovely ripe strawberry & cherry fruit hostage. The fruit comes across as somewhat delicate but I have to believe the acid is holding the fruit in a tight headlock. — 2 months ago

La Closerie Les Béguines Extra Brut Champagne Pinot Meunier 2014

As much as I love Prévost La Closerie on release (especially 18 and 19), allowing some bottle age for it to fill out and come into its own really does take it to the next level. LC14 is in the perfect spot flaunting powerful, rounded and rich stone fruit with smoky minerals, toasted hazelnuts and a vibrant and chiseled palate with a touch of salinity on its super persistent finish. Pinot Meunier from the master, it just can’t be matched. — a month ago

Château Tour Saint-Christophe

Saint-Émilion Red Bordeaux Blend 2018

Highly drinkable for being so young,
Suckling 97 review as follows

Currant, red-tea, chili, chocolate and lemon-zest aromas. Chalk and crushed gravel, too. It’s medium-bodied with tight, fine-grained tannins and fresh acidity. Sleek and tight with crunchy berry, mineral and zesty notes on the finish. Complex. Pretty center palate to this. Extremely polished. Try from 2025. - James Suckling
Vinous 95

The 2018 Tour Saint Christophe represents a new level of elegance, precision and finesse for this estate in Saint-Émilion's Saint-Christophe-des-Bardes district. Silky and exceptionally polished, the 2018 oozes class. Moreover, the heavy extraction and strong torrefaction notes that marked previous vintages of the recent past have been replaced by beautifully precise, vibrant fruit. Tour Saint Christophe is one of best values in Saint-Émilion. I haven't always loved Tour Saint Christoph, but I love the 2018. It's a fabulous effort from Technical Director Jérôme Aguirre and his team. Don't miss it. - Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media
