Classic old-style lighter Valpo. Cherry, almond, bitter herbs, and gravel on the nose. Bright and almost ethereally textured on the flowing palate. Nice acids, and a slightly bitterish cleansing close. Imperfect? No, perfect. (The 9.3 doesn’t reflect that this is as complex or complete a wine as, say, a Burgundy or Napa Cab to which I might give the same rating, but that it is exactly what it is supposed to be and I’m enjoying it for that.) — 4 months ago
Decant 1 hour (min sediment). Pulled from the crowded cellar ( I'm working on it!!). An engaging inky red/purple. On the nose: blackberry, dark plum, eucalyptus, cedar..all bursting from the glass. Taste: plum, chocolate, spice/cinnamon, blackberry, violet....finish with a little alcohol heat and slight tannic punch..drinking fine right now, no need to wait. — 7 years ago

Just a sip and I'm entranced. Full, rich, cocoa covered dark fruit and berries. Lush tannins leave me wanting more. In another year you will be lucky to share this one. — 8 years ago
Something else. Peated high high. Comparable to the Laphroaig Quarter Cask. I'm on a boat — 7 years ago

If you read my other post....I'm thinking it's (partially) me. Another wine that I usually rate high, but my rating falls short from my typical Opus rating. After my disappointment with the Continuum, I opened this. Was more pleased, but these are two wines I typically would rate 9.4+....so very odd I rated both on the lower 9 end of the scale. Must be me. — 8 years ago
