Fourth time tasting Lapierre in 2017. I've got a bit of a cold so I'm not enjoying this one as the previous ones. The nose is still a cherry bomb and bears a violet stamp. The palate is still very well balanced with a strong acid backbone, lots of ripe cherry all over the place, some grip, some width. The palate is a cherry song that plays for a very long while. 24 hours later it's still singing. Great! — 7 years ago
Classic old-style lighter Valpo. Cherry, almond, bitter herbs, and gravel on the nose. Bright and almost ethereally textured on the flowing palate. Nice acids, and a slightly bitterish cleansing close. Imperfect? No, perfect. (The 9.3 doesn’t reflect that this is as complex or complete a wine as, say, a Burgundy or Napa Cab to which I might give the same rating, but that it is exactly what it is supposed to be and I’m enjoying it for that.) — 9 months ago
Something else. Peated high high. Comparable to the Laphroaig Quarter Cask. I'm on a boat — 8 years ago
Just a sip and I'm entranced. Full, rich, cocoa covered dark fruit and berries. Lush tannins leave me wanting more. In another year you will be lucky to share this one. — 9 years ago

Dark, sweet, youthful fruit. I'm not sure that this one was ready to go yet and rather sure infanticide just happened tonight. Still, a nice full bodied Amarone can be a delight when it is like THIS. Poured into glass with a very dark, black inky component. Nose of fig, molasses. The entry is sweet, with dark youthful, acidic blackberry and toasted caramel. The finish is sweeter, youthful fruit that is well-balanced. Not too hot, not too tannic. For being so young, and not really ready to go, I can only see how this one is going to drink in 3-4 years. 2018-2025 — 9 years ago
