Vintage 2016 / Reliable producer makes a crisp and fine Gewürztraminer. Lychees in smell and taste. Sweet touch that makes the taste lively. @Willem Jan Withagen showed me to drink and appreciate more Gewürztraminer. Paired this with melon and ham, zucchini, shrimps in homemade tomatosauce and blue d’auvergne. All went well. — 12 days ago
A nice Cabernet Sauvignon blend from Bordeaux. Showing black and red fruits with earth, chocolates, vegetables, tobacco, spices, peppercorn, chocolates and herbs.
This 12 year old is earthy and enjoyable. A good food wine.
A blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon 30% Merlot and 10% Petit Verdot.
13% alcohol by volume.

Just solid and a stellar value. Good balance of earth and fruit, nice ripe tannins, focused and clean. Leans to the classic style. Drinking very well. 👍 to this property — 10 days ago
One of my favorite producers in all of Bordeaux, particularly when value enters the discussion. Dollar for delivered pleasure, this has few peers and yet, has the proven history to age gracefully for 30+ years. Dark fruits, cassis, tobacco, espresso, baking spices, earth. Finish is long and delicious. Tannins are still quite firm at this stage. Recommend an extended decant if possible. — 8 days ago
This Vin de France (not Bordeaux, though by a fine Bordeaux producer) is a bright and deep gold in the glass. Nose is shy but yields dark peach and dried flowers. The medium-bodied palate echoes the nose adding grapefruit rind, fresh straw, and a sharp brûlée. Acidity is as firm as they come placing this squarely in the realm of Le Sud-Ouest. As such, it cries out for foods of the richer kind. Roasted poultry, cassoulet, firm white fish, cream sauces, soft to medium cheeses; all would be excellent pairs. Now through 2025. — 24 days ago
Halfway between Bordeaux and Margaux lies this fairytale castle that produces this wine with around 50:50 CS/Merl. It is dense and dark in color, dark mulberry, black currants, oak, hints of leather, forest and mushrooms, and some volatility on the nose; rich full black fruits dominate the taste and is accompanied by high acids, dry fine tannins and a long finish with liquorice and chocolate. The wine feels like 14-14.5 % in alcohol but is listed as 13. Great value at 24 USD. — 3 days ago
Cork disintegrated but the wine was remarkably pure and fresh. Purple color, gorgeous fresh aromas of leather, plum, licorice, graphite, with matching flavor profile. 1986 vintage!!! — 8 days ago
Good. Had decent fruit and a bit of structure upon popping the cork bit became a bit flat and one-dimensional after 30 minutes of air. — 7 days ago
A little past it’s peak, it did not stand up as well as I thought it would — 8 days ago
