This is 11.5%. That’s low for wine but crazy high for beer. But this pulls it off. It’s rich. And has dark chocolate and coffee flavors, which is classic stout. But it’s also fresh, textured and really long. There’s something Northern Rhone about it. Hard to describe. But that spirit is here. It’s like nothing I’ve had. A wine beer but still a beer. Quite incredible. The nose is crazy. Super aromatic. Like an old school Anchor Steam X-mas Ale vintage dated magnum from back in the day. Really incredible. — 3 years ago
Lot 14/2 (based on 2014 vintage), no 135, disg 03/2018. An absolutely stunning BdB. On the nose: ginger, a slightly oxidative apple note, though dripping with citrus, drizzled with vanilla, soft coppery tones. Fantastic complexity. On the palate: lemon oil, lime, ginger, leaning toward ginger beer with the mousse, peach, vanilla. Tangy finish, wow. — 6 years ago
Vintage 2013 / Wednesday Meatballsday (2) / today a house favorite Meatballs with chicory stewed in beer - a Flemish recipe / so often it is advised to open a relative simple red wine with meatballs, but why not white? This Limoux from 85% chardonnay and 15% mauzac does the trick. It has a few bottle years which gives it a golden reflection. Smell with a smoky touch, impressions of tropical fruit like ananas and a royal buttery taste. — 7 years ago
These used to be cheap - not any more 40$ for the new vintage this was 26$. Classic and super elegant. A ton of tannins left: 14%. Fermented dark olives. Dark cherries. Way better than the 2013 chianti reserva I popped for our italian dinner club. These are the wines kids should try - but hey our brillant marketing 🤡 priced them out of trying quality nebbiolo so they switch to cocktails and beer! Well done. Will go for 5-10 more years with ease. — 3 months ago

Got 13 old vintage Firestone beers of various years and names from a coworker this was the only year and beer I got two of so figured I’d crack it open. Tastes of brandy, coffee, toffee, and dark chocolate with no bite at the end like a flavorful brandy with no bite super interesting and excited for the other various firestone vintage beers I received — 2 years ago
Vintage Lambic “which has matured for three years in oakwood barrels and has been selected for its exceptional colour, taste and flavour.”
“Powerful yet elegant, Bruocsella can be considered the missing link between the worlds of wine and beer. Since there is no secondary fermentation in the bottle Bruocsella is a flat, non-sparkling beer.”
“This aristocratic beer is to our national beer patrimony what Mouton-Rotschild, Petrus or Romanée-Conti are to the wines.”

Different in this vintage than the last one I had (2012). I like it. Less structure, more accessible. Dusty sweet brambly fruit. Has a root beer/cream soda thing going on. Very tasty Sunday night football roasted chicken smoke a blunt wine — 7 years ago
New vintage! Citrusy with herbal/floral notes, reminds me of wildflowers and beer hops. — 7 years ago
Vintage 2018 | paired with venison steak, chicory stewed in beer and baked potatoes | 4 h in decanter | beautiful red fruit in smell, tobacco and hint of chocolate. A bit tough taste, nice, but will develop further. Seems a little restricted in this stage. — a year ago
My 2nd, group 2nd, initially quite youthful, showing ripe, really grapey, youthful fruit, later it showed some coffee aromas (think coffee beer stouts/porters), which was weird as heck (but 2 other tasters picked up the same aromatic note on their own), this seems VERY RIPE for Burgaud (2009 vintage), but it all works!?!? — 3 years ago
Been a long time since I had a Mauriston Zin and I missed it! Yea, there Rockpile is even better but this is excellent. Many may enjoy beer with smoked chicken wings but try this Zin. Flavors melded wonderfully with our two different BBQ ribs, tannins were medium, very smooth for such a young vintage, and the pepper flavors seemed to accent the spices in the food. — 5 years ago
A spectacular vintage for this wine - high alcohol but silky smooth. Elegant, with high-toned aromas of unlit Cigarillos, birch beer and dark cherries. It just coats the mouth with streusel and lavender and blood orange and... oh, the bottle’s done. — 6 years ago
Non vintage, but bottled on 2/26/20. Typical KBS on the pour and in the glass. Dark black and viscous. Dark chocolate, bourbon and roasted malt on the nose. Rich and flavorful in the mouth. Great texture. Dark chocolate leads, bourbon in the middle and a slightly bitter finish. 12% ABV is well hidden. KBS was once a unicorn beer (I still have several bottles of every vintage going back to 2013), but this is not that. While still a great beer, the mass production the last few years is starting to take a toll. Maybe a year in the cellar with it's older brothers will give it some balance. — 6 years ago
This did not age well for me. A 2016 opened in 2019. Insanely sour. Definitely ginger but it became a little much on both fronts for me. I’d be interested to try again at the brewery if when they have vintage pours. — 7 years ago

2021 vintage. Decanted and tasted after 30 minutes and 1.5 hours. Medium body. Surprisingly agile and without the usual, massive Napa Cab footprint on the palate. Fairly tight core of root beer and dark cherry that wasn't unraveling. This was obviously an infanticide episode but someone insisted. Delightful and tantalizing intro but, (currently) in the end, mostly sizzle and no steak. Maybe things roll diffy in a 15-spot jiffy but doubtful. The sexy intro/ambiance/influencer/wannabe vibe now doesn't translate into relevance a decade or two in. And if this was throwing everything into the pot now? Still comes up short for the price that is being commanded. 'Scuse me while I yell at some clouds. Lately things just don't seem the same. The grapes from this historic/unique vineyard are but pawns in some new, multi-millionaire/billionaire game. Gimmie some 70’s/80’s Mondavi Reserve Cabs instead porfa. Keep the Opus bleep. C’est la vie. 5.14.26. — 2 months ago
