Wine estate : GAJA
Designation : Barbaresco
Name : Barbaresco
Country : Italy
Vivino : 5/5
Note : 1981, a catastrophic year for GAJA because of snow where only 25% of the 1980s and 1981s were bottled. Yet, at its opening, we feel the splendor exalt. Its garnet red color with copper highlights. Its elegant, delicate and complex nose with notes undergrowth, copper, coffee. On the palate, velvet taste that slips into the mouth leaving a long finish with flavors of spices, red fruits and coffee in the largest class.

— 6 years ago

This cider is tha bomb! We forgot about a tiny sample in our fridage for 2 months: what a happy mistake! We went and got a full size bottle after being thoroughly blown away by the sample and drank it immediately: still excellent. But not as good as the bottle that was forgotten in the fridge for 2 months, will be sure to repeat the process again and again! — 6 years ago
Light, smooth, citrusy, not very sweet, good. Harrison says off dry — 7 years ago
Floral tension, ripe strawberries, and volcanic minerality combine to make a feminine personality. Given its birth in Brouilly, it displays Mediterranean qualities of jammy fruit and iron. Acid stays lively while structured tannins give depth and adaptability with food. As always, Cru Beaujolais gives high QPR no matter the vintage. Drinking this bitch young as one should. — 7 years ago
