Opened in glass licorice dark fruit remarkably good with some air — 9 years ago
Was afraid to decant well before drinking due to age, but this was still youthful, fresh, and tight upon opening. It continued to open in the glass, but needed more air-time. Still, very enjoyable. — 10 years ago
Intense Syrah color from the southern Rhone, intense nose of flowers, fresh mouthfeel of spices and black fruits. — 8 years ago

Very nice 60th birthday wine — 12 years ago
Stunning and effortless. Noses large. Palette builds with expressive depth, luxurious mouthfeel and lovely spectrum of ripe red but mostly black fruit behind which lies the sun. Tannins are there but have a chew that resolves the fruit and makes for balance. I'm sure this is not even drinking at its best. — 9 years ago
Baked black fruits and wild blackberry patches. Soumade's Rasteau is framed by pleasantly chewy tannins that are the structural engine of the wine. — 10 years ago
