Domaine l'Aiguelière

Velours Montpeyroux Red Blend

Lovely smooth wine, great with steak and spicy prawns — a year ago

Domaine l'Aiguelière

Côte Dorée Coteaux du Languedoc Montpeyroux Syrah 1994

Less evolved than the Cote Rousse, more fruit-driven (again, redfruits mostly), less leathery, gamy, great balance, definitely shows little to no Brett, long finish, really outstanding!! — 10 months ago

@Doug Powers One of the wines that stirred my interest at the start of my wine journey! So happy to read still going strong

@Ira Schwartz, these are honestly great wines that were low-to-mid $20s in those days, which is laughable now but seemed $$$ in those days with all the Languedoc stuff in this days in the $10-15 range. But, other than Peyre-Rose (Madame Soria, IIRC), amazing wines that were a little cheaper, d’Aigueliere single cuvees were the gold standard!!

Domaine l'Aiguelière

Coteaux du Languedoc Montpeyroux Côte Rousse Syrah Blend 1994

Leather, meaty, animal, some brett, old southern French Syrah, similar flavors with redfruits, good balance, soft tannins, long finish, really lovely Syrah! — 10 months ago
